The solution treatment of stainless steel forgings refers to the heat treatment process of heating the alloy to the high temperature single-phase zone to maintain constant temperature, so that the excess phase is fully dissolved into the solid solution and then cooled quickly to get the supersaturated solid solution.  
 

1.Mainly to improve the plasticity and toughness of stainless steel forgings, to prepare for precipitation hardening treatment.  
 
2.The structure and composition of stainless steel forgings uniform: atomic activity intensification at high temperature, σ phase dissolution, chemical composition tends to be uniform, after rapid cooling to obtain uniform single-phase structure.  
 
3.Make various phases of the alloy fully dissolved, strengthen the solid solution, and improve toughness and corrosion resistance, eliminate stress and softening, in order to continue processing or molding.  
 

4.Eliminate work hardening, in order to continue cold processing.  By solution treatment, distorted lattice is restored, elongation and broken grains are recrystallized, and internal stress is eliminated.  
 
5.Restore stainless steel forgings inherent corrosion resistance.  Due to carbide precipitation and lattice defects caused by cold processing, the corrosion resistance of stainless steel decreases.  After solution treatment, the corrosion resistance of stainless steel is restored to a good state.
