Take the example of a common 90-degree stainless steel elbow, where the standard radius (R) is 1.5 times the diameter (D). However, many manufacturers in the market use molds with a radius of 1.25 times the diameter, which is slightly shorter than the standard size. While this 0.25D might seem insignificant, it can result in differences in weight and profit for the manufacturer.
