The only way for ships to reach zeebrugge's inner harbour is through the Pierre Vandamme lock, which dates back to the last century. But the lock is working at full capacity. Flemish Government is investing over 100 million euros in refurbishment, and Wh-Steel is very pleased to be part of this project.Strengthening the lock allows it to continue to provide value-added logistics services to the automotive and food industries.

Pierre Vandamme's lock no. 4 (the closest door to the sea) has been repaired in his lock room.And because the lock weighs more than a thousand tons and is a quarter the size of a football field, it is a spectacular operation.
