When shrinking concentric reducer pipes, consider whether the pressure loss caused by this will affect the process flow. In order to prevent the installation of the reducer from affecting the distribution of the velocity field and causing pressure loss, thereby reducing the measurement accuracy of the electromagnetic flow meter, the required central cone angle α should not be greater than 15°,the smaller the better.

There are two types: concentric and eccentric. Concentric reducers are generally used for vertical pipes; eccentric reducers are used for horizontal pipes, and attention should be paid to indicate whether the top is flat or the bottom is flat.

The concentric reducer mainly has the following places: 1. When the flow rate of the fluid in the pipeline changes, such as increase or decrease, and when the flow rate requirement does not change much, a reducer is required.

  1. The inlet of the pump is to prevent cavitation.
  2. At the joints of instruments, such as flow meters and regulating valves, reducer pipes are also required to match the joints of the instruments.

Concentric reducer The flow meter of the corresponding reducer diameter can be selected according to the actual flow of the process pipeline corresponding to the flow in the above table, and the flow meter of the same diameter specification as the process pipeline should be selected as far as possible.

The concentric reducer is made of carbon steel, which is expressed by multiplying the diameter of the large head by the diameter of the small head and the thickness. The characteristic of the concentric reducer is that the strength is significantly higher than that of carbon steel with the same amount of carbon, and it has good toughness and plasticity, as well as good weldability and corrosion resistance.

The reducing forming process of the concentric reducer is to put a tube blank with the same diameter as the large end of the reducer into a forming die and press it along the axial direction of the tube blank.
